When you attend worship service at Peace Lutheran Church, you can expect to be greeted and welcomed by our ushers and greeters as well as random parishioners who do not recognize you.
We have no special dress code, so whether you are on a hiking trip, in town attending a football game, visiting Texas A&M University, or have to take off time during a day working construction, we will be glad to have you join us. If you have small children, you are welcome to use our complimentary nursery service during worship.
Feel free to sit anywhere you feel comfortable. Most of the liturgy for the service will be displayed on video screens, including the music for the hymns. But many of the hymns come from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymnal located in the pew pockets, so you may use them if you prefer.
Another thing in the pew pockets are yellow visitor's cards. Should you wish to be contacted after the service, we ask that you complete one of the cards and place it in the offering plate when it passes by.
Finally, we practice open communion, meaning anyone, regardless of background, religious upbringing, or any other seeming distinction is welcome at the table. You are welcome to join us in communion if you wish. But should you wish for a blessing without the bread and wine, you may come forward and cross your arms across your chest when you reach the communion station.
Our goal is to make you feel respected and welcomed during your visit with us. Welcome to Peace!
